What is the “Terrorism Watch List”? After the 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred, the FBI realized there were several different lists in our government that contained information on terrorist activities around the globe. That information needed to be consolidated in one place to make it much easier to identify and share terrorist threats within the US. This launched the FBI’s creation of the “Terrorist Screening Center (TSC).”

The FBI’s online site explains: “The TSC keeps the American people safe by sharing terrorism-related information across the U.S. government and with law enforcement agencies. We have consolidated to one Federal Terrorism Watchlist on people suspected of being involved in terrorism (or related activities).

Information on the Terrorist Watchlist includes 1) name, 2) date of birth, and 3) fingerprints. Most people on the terrorism watchlist are not Americans, and they have no known connection to the U.S.”

Living in post-9/11 America, we are very interested in how well our federal government monitors individuals on the Terrorism Watchlist, to prevent them from entering the US. Since September 11, 2001, we know the reality of terrorist attacks right in our neighborhoods, from enemies thousands of miles away.

It is our Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that tracks individuals on the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List who are captured at the border. According to CBP’s Terrorist Screening Dataset, since Biden became president there has been a huge spike in these apprehensions (see numbers below). And if these are only the ones we have caught, imagine how many have slipped past the points of entry, into our neighborhoods.

Trump Presidency (Jan. 2017 – Jan. 2021 = 4 years): 14 terrorists caught over 4 years = 3.5 per year

Biden Presidency (Jan. 2021 – today = 3 years): 286 terrorists caught over 3 years = 95 per year.

Before we investigate why such an astronomical increase in terrorist captures with Biden, first we must realize that not only terrorists but all illegal immigrant captures at the borders have increased dramatically.

Trump Presidency (4 years): 786,034 illegals caught over 4 years = 196,509 illegals per year

Biden Presidency (3 years): 2,641,415 illegals caught over 3 years = 880,472 illegals per year.

Even though these unacceptable increases in illegal immigrants under Biden must stop, the premise is that most of them are looking for a new, better life for themselves and their families. Terrorists, on the other hand, are dangerous people who are in America not to make a new life, but to make a new attack.

So, why do we see such a dramatic increase almost immediately after Trump left office and Biden took over? Simple – Biden cancelled Trump’s strict border policies and implemented new open-border policies.

In this week’s verse, from the Old Testament book named after him, the prophet Micah speaks on God’s behalf against the northern kingdom of Israel, where at that time (around 730 BC) people were deliberately committing evil acts for their own gain: “Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand.” (Micah 2:1).

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody accuses Biden of doing the very thing that Micah warned against with illegal immigration, by deliberately breaking the law: “On day one, Biden began intentionally dismantling our public safety immigration structure. President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have outright ignored federal law. We have uncovered numerous ‘secret plans’ to allow mass release of unvetted and inadmissible migrants. This is in direct conflict with federal law and has put Americans’ safety in jeopardy.”

Dr. Merrill Matthews, resident scholar with the Institute for Policy Innovation, lays out how the Democratic Party under the Biden Administration could end up dismantling themselves due to this dangerous and illegal open border policy: “What if someone on the terrorist watchlist entered the country illegally and was able to execute a major attack inside the U.S., destroying buildings or killing hundreds of people or both? Were it discovered that that person entered the country during Biden’s open-border policies, we would likely see a huge voter backlash in the next election, even if Biden were no longer in office. And rightly so.”

As we approach November elections, the White House knows Americans will not tolerate this continuing.
