The Trump Assassination Attempt: Further Revealing America’s Rebellion Against God

Leviticus 19:18 “You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.”

As we near the November election, American culture – especially the Democratic Left – is in rebellion to God’s command in our verse this week. How did we get to an attempted assassination of Donald Trump?

“We try to understand the root cause for the assassination attempt. When you look at the political hatred directed at Donald Trump – things like ‘MAGA extremism’ and ‘an existential threat to democracy’ – is it possible that someone would take that to heart and perpetrate a horrible incident like this?”

This is part of the questioning to former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in his interview on Fox News after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. Pompeo’s response: “It is undoubtably the case that the direct fallout from the rhetoric you see against someone who has been accused for years as destroying democracy – things that we have never had any President being accused of before – and then echoed throughout the entire media ecosphere – it leads to people who are evil, who are wicked doing the kinds of actions we saw yesterday. The assassination attempt belongs to that individual, but it is the case that the rhetoric that has been at such a high level for so many years creates an increased likelihood that you get an event just like what we witnessed yesterday.”

The type of rhetoric Pompeo is referring to escalated after Trump’s election as President in 2016.

In a 2017 rap video, Snoop Dogg points a prop gun at a clown-styled President Trump. In the video, Snoop Dogg criticizes police brutality with the lyrics “Trying to keep from dying in these mutha$%#& streets; &^@% the police, from a black man’s point of view.” He then smokes weed next to a chain-bound Trump.

In 2017, Kathy Griffin posted on Instagram her holding a replica of the bloodied head of President Trump. She confessed in an interview that she didn’t realize how serious the Department of Justice was in trying to charge her with the crime of conspiracy to assassinate the president of the United States, saying it was “my own stupidity in thinking that people were ready to realize the level of dangerous that the president is.”

Madonna, taking the stage at the 2017 Women’s’ March in Washington, DC, screamed out “Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I’m outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot of blowing up the White House.”

Over the past several years, President Biden has published inflammatory rhetoric about not only Trump but half of the country’s population who support him. Here are several recent examples.

“Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to the very soul of this country. Trump poses many threats to our country: the right to choose, civil right, voting rights, and America’s standing in the world. But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything.” (September 2022).

“Donald Trump is a threat to our democracy, and we cannot let him win. I’m in Madison, Wisconsin talking to folks about what’s at stake in this election. Tune in.” (December 2023).

“Donald Trump is the greatest threat to our democracy. Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation. He’s a threat to our freedom. He’s a threat to our democracy. He’s literally a threat everything America stands for.” “I have one job, and that’s to beat Donald Trump. I’m absolutely certain I’m the best person to do that. So, we’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.” (June 2024).

And now, in 2023 President Biden and the leftist media have strengthened their campaign to compare Donald Trump to Adolph Hitler, the Nazi leader responsible for the murder of over 17 million people, issuing an image on X under the banner “TRUMP PARROTS HITLER,” that lists 3 quotes from Trump next to those from Hitler. One example is on immigration, where Trump is quoted saying “Immigrants are ‘poisoning the blood of our country,” next to a quote from Hitler: “Contamination of the blood’ by ‘an inferior race’ will lead to the fall of Germany,” insinuating that Hitler’s extermination of 6 million Jews is equivalent to Trump’s agenda for illegal immigrants. The Biden campaign then comments “This is not a coincidence.”

Since Trump’s attempted assassination, everyone is speaking up against this rhetoric, that has insighted those with evil and wicked intentions to act. Be in prayer for our country and for God’s continued hand of protection over Donald Trump.
